As part of the Hobiennale 2019, the work Here lies lies was situated within the darkened space of the Bond Store Basement of the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery (TMAG), Nipaluna / Hobart, one of the earliest colonialist overlays of Palawa people’s bones and cultures in Lutriwita / Tasmania. The installation focused on illuminating and shining a light on the ongoing lies and fictions of Tasmanian history, acting to counter the myth of Palawa extinction, largely propagated by the Tasmanian Museum itself. Working within the Museum context enabled specific Palawa stories to be returned home to Country.
