In the suspended work titled Anchored, the harsh industrially-produced material of steel wool is used in conjunction with ocean-derived bull kelp and acts as a physical anchor to speak from the past into the future. As a Trawlwoolway woman, I am grounding and anchoring my relationship with water and the watery realms of the sea. A spear takes aim at inaccurate myths and denials of Australian colonial histories.

The floor-based, steel wool vessel titled Floating realms refers to both the fluid nature of histories and the ongoing association my Trawlwoolway people have with the sea. Despite concerted attempts to sink us, we continue to strongly navigate our own course.
