As part of the Unleashed exhibition at Artisan Gallery, the work On the threshold of unravelling references the disappearance of the artist’s mother, and reaches out to all Indigenous women who have disappeared without trace. Wrapped in woven bull kelp, this disembodied structure holds, cares for, and encases, speaking to how histories, stories and lived experiences of Indigenous women are gradually being revealed and are on the threshold of unravelling.
